10/9/2010 Mokauea Island.

So I’m long over due of my postings here on my blogspot, and it’s almost to the end of this semester. As I look back going to Mokauea Island was a fun experience that I took part of for my Anthropology class. Being able to learn about the islands history, was interesting. I did not know that this island ever existed. One of the speakers was actually a resident there, and it was interesting that only blood family descendants can live there. It was sad to know that other higher power persons wanted to over take that island. In attending this field trip, it was nice to give a helping hand to the families that live on this island. Their goal is to restore this land to its natural state in a sense where they want to plant native plants and use this island as a historical learning facility. Being able to do this brings life to people on the island and also sharing it to the public. I was very glad, well educated, and pleased to help these families and other families that are part of this future historical learning facility.
Always,
May :]
