10/ 12/ 2010 180 Degrees South.

Watching 180 Degrees South, was about a man by the name of Jeff Johnson. He travelled around the world hiking up beautiful and outstanding glaciers that I couldn’t even do myself, nonetheless hiking up to Stairway to Heaven here on O’ahu. He is quite enthusiastic where he never gave up on his goals. This video gave me a message that the ultimate reality of pursuing goals is the transformation in one self. Also, just like Jeff, we all will come to a day where we all have reached our “last climb”, our last goals.
Many interesting thoughts came to mind. For one, Jeff spoke of saving your soul in terms that he stopped climbing and making goals to do these kinds of things. When he said this, a thought that came into my mind was that most people now a days seem like some are living as if their soul is already buried into the ground rather than on the surface. In some sense it is true. But in general, I felt that Jeff was telling the world to reconnect yourself with self; being able to reconnect yourself with nature which in my perspective seemed such a great idea. The reason is because now a days, our daily lives are surrounded with objects that take us away from being able to reconnect ourselves with nature.
Always,
May :]
