First Week of School.

Dear Blog,
Being back in school this fall semester has started off great. I'm actually enjoying all my courses as well as my professors. One of them is an anthropology course and that is the reason why I have created a blogspot. My professor in this particular course is very enthusiastic and with all the topics that we've talked about on our first day of class was very interesting. A word that made me think about a lot while the class was going on is the word ‘Pono’. It’s weird because I used to use call my friend from church ‘Pono’ as an inside joke. I didn’t ever think about what it meant. And being from Hawai’i I should have already known. In actuality, I didn’t. My Professor went on and talked about what it meant; “The word Pono means to do what is right.” While thinking about it hard, I tried to analyze if I was being pono or the things that I’m doing in life are pono, are right. As I write more in here, I hope that I can comtemplate more on what is right not only in myself but in others around me; especially to what is happening in the world. And I’ll challenge myself to also be able to speak up for what is pono
Always,
May
